Sarandon’s acclaimed performance as Sister Helen Prejean in Dead Man Walking (1995), for which she received the Academy Award for Best Actress, remains one of the most powerful cinematic portrayals of moral courage and social conscience. The award will be presented to Susan Sarandon at the Peace Ambassadors Awards Gala & Grand Ball, the culminating event of the International Peace Festival, to be held at the historic Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Canada, on October 24, 2026.
