Moses Znaimer to Receive 2025 IPA | AIP Honorary Award in the Arts

Toronto, Canada – July 15, 2025 — The International Peace Alliance | Alliance Internationale de la Paix (IPA | AIP) is pleased to announce that Mr. Moses Znaimer, renowned media innovator, Zoomer advocate, and cultural visionary, has been named the recipient of the 2025 IPA | AIP Honorary Award in the Arts.
The IPA | AIP Honorary Award in the Arts recognizes the essential role of cultural and artistic work in advancing peace and the conservation, protection, and promotion of cultural heritage. Mr. Znaimer is honoured for his outstanding achievements and pioneering contributions to television, music, and media, which have forever transformed the media landscape while fostering public engagement with the arts.
“Moses Znaimer’s lifelong dedication to using media to inspire, educate, and empower communities aligns deeply with our mission to build a more peaceful and just world,” said the Hon. Dr. Alvin Curling, President of IPA-AIP. “His visionary contributions to Canada’s cultural landscape and global media have expanded the reach and appreciation of the arts across generations.”
A celebrated broadcaster and producer, Mr. Znaimer co-founded Citytv, MuchMusic, CablePulse24, and ZoomerMedia, and pioneered interactive broadcasting through initiatives such as Speaker’s Corner, Videography, and the Studioless Streetfront Television Operating System. His innovations anticipated the rise of user-generated content, reshaping how audiences engage with media and the arts.
Through ZoomerMedia and the ZoomerPlex production complex in Toronto’s Liberty Village, Mr. Znaimer has championed content, services, and advocacy for Canada’s 15.3 million people aged 45+, providing platforms for community dialogue and lifelong learning. His MZTV Museum of Television & Archive preserves rare pre-WWII and vintage television artifacts, ensuring the protection and appreciation of our media heritage.
A graduate of McGill University and Harvard University, Mr. Znaimer’s commitment to interdisciplinary learning led him to found ideaCity, an annual gathering of the world’s leading thinkers, and to partner with NASA and Google in launching Singularity University on the ideaCity stage.
Mr. Znaimer’s many honours include the Order of Ontario, Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, and the Juno’s Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award. In 2011, the City of Toronto named a stretch of Queen Street as “Moses Znaimer Way,” and he was knighted as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France in recognition of his cultural contributions.
The IPA | AIP Honorary Award in the Arts will be formally presented to Mr. Znaimer at the Peace Ambassadors Awards Gala & Grand Ball, the closing celebration of the 2025 International Peace Festival, on September 26, 2025, at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto, Canada.
