Bill Gates to Receive 2025 IPA | AIP Impact Leadership Award

The International Peace Alliance | Alliance Internationale de la Paix (IPA | AIP) is proud to announce that Mr. Bill Gates has been named the recipient of the 2025 IPA Impact Leadership Award, one of the organization’s highest honors recognizing visionary global leadership in the pursuit of peace, health, and social progress.

“Mr. Gates’ unwavering commitment to humanitarian progress and global cooperation represents the essence of what this award stands for,” said the Hon. Dr. Alvin Curling, Chair of IPA | AIP. “His leadership reminds us that empathy, innovation, and global citizenship are essential for building a peaceful and sustainable world.” 

Mr. Gates will be formally recognized at the Peace Ambassadors Awards Gala & Grand Ball,  the culminating event of the 2025 International Peace Festival, taking place on September 26, 2025, at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto, Canada.

As co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mr. Gates has played a transformative role  in tackling some of the most pressing challenges of our time—from global health equity and disease eradication to education access and climate resilience. His philanthropic leadership has reshaped international development and inspired a new model of collaborative, evidence-based impact.

In addition to his work in public health and education, Mr. Gates has authored bestselling books, including How to Avoid a Climate Disaster, and has been recognized with numerous international honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom (USA), the Légion d'honneur (France), and an honorary knighthood (UK).
